Alcohol-Based Tinctures – Powerful, Deep-Acting, and Truly Unique

Most manufacturers rely on traditional maceration when producing tinctures – soaking plants in alcohol-water mixtures for several weeks. However, this process only achieves partial extraction: once equilibrium is reached between the plant material and the solvent, very little additional extraction occurs. Many valuable plant compounds remain trapped in the residual plant matter.

We take a completely different approach: Our tinctures are produced exclusively using vacuum Soxhlet extraction – a highly advanced technique that remains exceptionally rare in Europe. This is a continuous extraction process that achieves a significantly higher concentration of plant compounds compared to standard macerations.

A 1:4 Soxhlet extract contains approximately twice as many dissolved plant compounds as a conventional 1:4 macerated tincture, bringing it closer in potency to a 1:2 or even 1:1 macerate. Our 1:1 Life Elixir tinctures operate in a category of their own when it comes to strength – and you will notice the difference.

To protect heat-sensitive botanical compounds, we perform Soxhlet extraction under partial vacuum. This significantly lowers boiling temperatures, preserving delicate compounds while maintaining their stability and activity.

Our alcohol-based extracts contain an average of approximately 65% alcohol – a concentration scientifically recognized for extracting the broadest possible spectrum of plant constituents. This means you receive not just a potent extract, but one that delivers the full botanical profile.

Alcohol-Free Tinctures (Syrups) – Gentle, Pleasant, and Effective

For those who prefer or require alcohol-free options, we also offer our tinctures in an alcohol-free form through our highly popular glycerin-based syrups.

Glycerin is an excellent plant-based solvent – gentle, naturally sweet, and highly tolerable. Because its extraction power is somewhat lower than alcohol, a slightly higher dosage (approximately +30%) is generally recommended compared to alcohol-based tinctures.

To ensure maximum botanical potency, we rely on a sophisticated two-stage process:

• Stage 1: Intensive ultrasonic extraction, where sound waves break open plant cells, dramatically improving compound release – all at temperatures below 30°C, ensuring exceptionally gentle processing.
• Stage 2: An additional 6-week maceration ensures that every possible beneficial plant compound is thoroughly extracted.

Our extraction solvent – also known as the menstruum – consists of:

• 60% plant-based glycerin (organic quality, naturally sweet)
• 39% purified water
• 1% organic apple cider vinegar

The apple cider vinegar helps lower pH levels, improving the extraction of delicate or difficult-to-solubilize compounds such as alkaloids.
