Amur Cork Tree (Phellodendron amurense) - Tincture

Amur Cork Tree Tincture (1 : 4) Amur Cork Tree (Phellodendron amurense) tincture, made from the bark of the tree What is Amur Cork Tree? Did you know that the Amur cork tree is described as an important plant in many TCM sources? Even so, this deciduous tree from the rue family is still relatively little known in Europe, although it is also used as a park tree in this region. The Amur cork tree originally comes from the Far East. It can be found in China, Mongolia, Taiwan, Korea, Japan and Russia. When the conditions are right, the cork tree can reach a height of up to 25 metres and a trunk diameter of 100 centimetres. It requires sufficient sunlight as well as moist, deep soil. The greyish bark is also striking. It is extremely thick and contains a high amount of cork. During the growth phase, the cork layer splits into furrows. However, the Amur cork tree is not damaged by this, as the cork layer is continuously renewed. For the production of our tincture, we use only bark from the Amur cork tree. It is selected according to strict quality criteria, carefully dried, finely milled and extracted with alcohol. The result is a tincture that meets our high quality standards. Traditional plant knowledge In traditional Chinese plant knowledge, the bark of the Amur cork tree is described under the name Huang Bai. It is associated there with specific traditional concepts and organ circles.
