Many people associate frankincense with the characteristic aroma of this distinctive resin. Olibanum, another name for the resin, has been known for centuries as incense and a traded botanical material. Frankincense resin is a plant-based raw material with a characteristic aroma and resinous consistency. This frankincense tincture is a food supplement based on an alcoholic preparation made from the resin of Boswellia serrata. The term olibanum is used for frankincense resin; the resin raw material used for this product comes from the species Boswellia serrata. Boswellia serrata belongs to the Burseraceae family and is native to the Indian subcontinent. The trees grow in seasonally dry tropical regions. To obtain the resin, the bark is incised so that resin is released and hardens in the air. The resulting resin pieces are collected and then processed further. We use olibanum from Boswellia serrata to make our tincture. The liquid format can be portioned with the pipette and incorporated into a daily routine in accordance with the directions for use. Directions for Use The recommended daily intake is 99 drops (approximately 3.2 ml) per day, preferably divided into three portions of approximately 33 drops each. Begin with a total of 33 drops (approximately 1.1 ml) per day—or 11 drops three times a day—and then increase the amount over several days until the recommended daily intake is reached. Use the enclosed pipette to count the drops. Important Information IMPORTANT: Contains 65% alcohol by volume. This product is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consumption for more than 3 consecutive months is not recommended; a one-month break is advised before continued use.
