With its purple flowers reminiscent of orchids and leaf-like structures reminiscent of peppermint, Red Root Sage is a distinctive plant from the mint family. The characteristic part of Salvia miltiorrhiza is hidden below the ground: the thick, deep-red root, which has long been described in the botanical traditions of China and Japan. The name Red Root Sage refers to the striking red colour of the root. This plant part is therefore the focus of the alcohol-free extract. This herbaceous plant prefers riverbanks and forests and can reach a height of up to 80 cm under optimal conditions. For our alcohol-free tincture, we use only the deep-red roots of Red Root Sage. They are harvested according to strict quality standards, carefully dried and finely ground before being prepared as an alcohol-free extract in a glycerine-water base.
