What is Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba)?

Ginkgo is a tree with a long-standing tradition. This genus of tree already existed on our planet over 200 million years ago. Even today, these majestic giants can be found growing wild in China. Thanks to its strong adaptability to various conditions, ginkgo is now cultivated worldwide.

This “living fossil” is easy to recognize by its fan-shaped, irregularly notched leaves that glow a soft light green in summer. In autumn, the ginkgo is particularly beautiful when its leaves turn a brilliant yellow.

To reach its impressive height of up to 40 meters, the ginkgo tree requires a lot of time, as it grows slowly. In general, ginkgo seems to follow the motto “good things take time.” It can take up to 20 years before the tree produces its first flowers and seeds. Perhaps that’s why the seed kernel is considered a delicacy in many Asian countries.

For our products, we use only natural, untreated ginkgo leaves, as they contain the highest concentration of active compounds. As always, we place great emphasis on absolute purity and maximum quality.

The role of Ginkgo in Traditional Chinese Medicine

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, ginkgo has been part of the standard repertoire for over 5,000 years. Its effects are so highly valued that ginkgo is even seen as a symbol of longevity and health. The significance of this healing plant is especially evident in the reverence shown to ginkgo trees by Buddhist monks. For centuries, it has been customary for monks to chew ginkgo leaves preventively to maintain mental clarity in old age. But not only monks appreciate its properties—folk medicine also recognizes the leaves for their health-supporting effects. Knowledgeable TCM doctors and practitioners attribute many positive properties to ginkgo. It is believed to strengthen heart Qi, stimulate the mind, move the blood, and resolve water retention.

The leaves of the ginkgo tree contain a wealth of secondary plant substances, including flavonoids, ginkgolides, tannins, and essential oils.

Ginkgo furs Hirn

Nettle (Urtica) tablets, 600 mg active ingredient

Nettle Tablets, 600 mg Active Ingredient Tablet size → 20mm * 10mm Active ingredient per tablet → 600mg What is Nettle (Urtica sp.)? The nettle is not exactly one of humanity’s favorite plants. On the contrary, it is often referred to as a weed. This is mainly due to its leaves, which are covered with numerous stinging and bristly hairs. When touched carelessly, these hairs certainly live up to their name and can leave unpleasant marks on the skin. This happens quite easily, as the plant – which can grow up to 150 cm tall – is found wherever people live. It thrives in gardens, forest edges, and meadows alike. People often try to fight this ancient plant deliberately, but this is not easy, since its deep rootstock is hardy and resilient. Its four-edged stem and clusters of small, inconspicuous flowers up to 10 cm long also withstand many environmental challenges. For our products, we use only ground leaves and roots. This way, you benefit from the full power of the plant. Of course, we adhere to our quality promise and use only plants from natural, organic cultivation. A medicinal plant with a long tradition Despite its modern reputation, the nettle is one of the oldest medicinal plants on earth. As early as 3,000 years before our era, the ancient Egyptians valued Urtica for its soothing effects on various types of pain. The knowledge about this healing plant was also preserved in antiquity. The Greek physician Dioscorides described numerous uses, especially for ailments of the excretory organs, pain, strained movements, and to support the respiratory system. Another ancient source summarized its benefits succinctly in the 1st century AD: “The leaves soften the abdomen, dispel flatulence and promote urination.” Even the healers of the Middle Ages, such as Sebastian Kneipp and Hildegard von Bingen, placed their full trust in this plant. Kneipp recognized its unique cleansing effect on all bodily fluids, while Hildegard praised nettle mainly for its beneficial impact on digestive discomfort. In folk medicine, people have long relied – and still rely – on the unique composition of active ingredients found in this native plant. In addition to its traditional uses, nettle has also been successfully used for skin problems, to stimulate metabolism, and to support the liver, gallbladder, stomach, intestines, and pancreas. What’s inside: Nettle contains a true abundance of highly effective plant compounds, such as: Phenolic acids (antioxidants that may slow the aging process and help keep inflammation under control) Flavonoids (powerful antioxidants that protect the body from free radicals) Coumarin (known for its calming, antispasmodic, and anti-inflammatory properties) Chlorophyll Carotenoids – these secondary plant substances are among the most important antioxidants and provide effective protection against free radicals Vitamins (A, C, E) Minerals and trace elements: iron, potassium, silicon, magnesium, phosphorus Nettle tablets without questionable additives This dietary supplement contains no artificial colorings, flavorings, preservatives, gelatin, added sugar, lactose, or gluten. Ingredients IngredientAmount per daily doseInfo Nettle leaves and roots(Urtica dioica) approx. 3000 mg Organic raw material Additionally, two common and harmless cellulose excipients (MCC / HPMC) are used for the tablet’s shape stability. These are also of purely plant origin. A very small amount (only a few thousandths by weight) of the equally common and safe substance magnesium stearate is included. Recommended intake Take 5 tablets daily with sufficient liquid. Notes Food supplements are generally not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. Store protected from heat, in a dry place, and out of the reach of children. The recommended daily intake should generally not be exceeded.

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) - Tabletten, 450 mg Wirkstoff

Maca (Lepidium meyenii) - Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient

Maca Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient Tablet size → 16 mm * 8 mm Active ingredient per tablet → 450 mg What is Maca (Lepidium meyenii / Lepidium peruvianum)? In recent years, Maca has also gained attention in Europe. But what exactly is behind this name? It is the root of a cress plant originally native to Peru. This medicinal plant thrives best at altitudes of up to 4000 meters in the Andes. Under these extreme conditions – strong winds, cold, and intense UV radiation – Maca develops its full potential. At only about 20 cm in height, the plant grows close to the ground, and its true treasure lies in its root. The stem gradually transforms into a tuber, where the plant stores not only water but also a wealth of nutrients. At first glance, the Maca root looks much like a turnip. From the tuber sprout feathery leaves, which are used by the local Peruvian population as food, often eaten as a salad. The Sacred Plant of the Indigenous People For the people of Peru, Maca has always been an essential part of life. For over 2000 years, it has been valued both as food and medicine. Even the Inca appreciated its powerful effects when they built the legendary city of “Machu Picchu” in the 15th century. To this day, indigenous communities value Maca especially for its strengthening properties. In traditional Peruvian medicine, the root has been used for arthritic pain, respiratory issues, and for supporting hormonal balance. Women in particular use Maca from midlife onwards, as it is believed to help with resilience, mood swings, and energy levels during the natural transition that begins around age 40. For our products, we use only high-quality Maca roots that meet strict quality standards, ensuring that you receive only biologically valuable Maca. What’s inside: The Maca tuber provides a rich abundance of nutrients. It contains proteins, carbohydrates, and essential micronutrients such as zinc, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin C, and vitamin B3. It also contains a wide variety of secondary plant compounds, including glucosinolates (mustard oil glycosides) and natural plant sterols.
