Product information "Indian Morning Star (Uncaria rhynchophylla) - Tincture"
Indian Morning Star Tincture (1:4 tincture)
Indian Morning Star (Uncaria rhynchophylla) tincture made from the hook-like holdfasts
What is Indian Morning Star (Uncaria rhynchophylla)?
The poetic name “Indian Morning Star” refers to a plant with a distinctly ancient appearance. With its greenish, fleshy leaves, white spherical flowers and hook-shaped extensions, Uncaria rhynchophylla looks anything but ordinary. This special appearance makes the plant interesting in traditional Chinese plant knowledge. In Europe, the plant has also become better known through authors such as Stephen Harrod Buhner.
Botanically, it is a distinctive climbing plant that is mainly known in Japan and China under the name Gouteng. Indian Morning Star prefers dense growth and climbs by attaching itself to trees.
The hook-like holdfasts that help Gouteng attach to trees are especially described in traditional plant literature. For this tincture, we therefore use the claws of Indian Morning Star. As customers expect from Phönix der Lebenskraft, we focus on carefully selected botanical raw materials and careful processing.
Traditional classification and plant information

Indian Morning Star is receiving increasing attention in the Western world. Part of this recognition is linked to Stephen Harrod Buhner, who described the plant in his publications.
Indian Morning Star contains plant-typical constituents such as hirsurine, hirsuteine, rhynchophylline, isorhynchophylline, corynoxeine, isocorynoxeine, tannins and flavonoids.
