Product information "Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) - Tincture"
Japanese Knotweed Tincture (1 : 4)
Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum, resveratrol) tincture made from ground root
What is Japanese Knotweed?
With its small white flowers and numerous leaves, Japanese knotweed looks rather modest at first glance and is somewhat reminiscent of bamboo. The plant originally comes from Asia. Today it is found in many regions and is often described for its robust growth habit and distinctive root. It prefers riverbanks and stream edges, but can also grow in different locations and soil types. Under suitable conditions, Japanese knotweed can grow very quickly and form dense stands.
Typical features include strong stems, heart- to egg-shaped leaves and a persistent root structure. This root is the part of the plant used for this tincture. The liquid dosage form is especially practical for anyone who prefers portioning in drops.
For our products, we use carefully selected plants that are checked according to our internal quality specifications.
Japanese Knotweed in traditional Chinese herbal knowledge
Japanese knotweed is now also known in the Western world, yet it is still considered a distinctive plant root. The plant naturally contains resveratrol and flavonoids. Our tincture is made from the ground root and offered in liquid form.
Resveratrol is a natural plant compound also known from foods such as grapes. In botanical literature, Japanese knotweed is often described in connection with its natural resveratrol content.
In traditional Chinese herbal knowledge, Japanese knotweed has been known for a long time. The root is described there under the name Huzhang and used in various traditional formulas. Our tincture takes up this traditional classification and combines it with a practical drop format for the daily supplementation of the diet.
The term tincture describes an alcoholic plant extract. The stated ratio of 1 : 4 refers to the manufacturing process and makes the recipe traceable without deriving any medical effect from it.
Japanese knotweed is also known to many people under the name Huzhang and from botanical literature.
