Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) - Tincture

Product information "Kudzu (Pueraria lobata) - Tincture"

Kudzu Tincture (1:4)

Kudzu (Pueraria lobata, also known as Japanese Arrowroot) tincture made from roots

What is Kudzu?

In Europe, kudzu root still plays only a minor role — have you heard much about this enchanting medicinal plant? In Japan and China, however, kudzu has long been a well-established part of traditional medicine.

Since the plant originates from these regions, this may not be surprising at first glance. But when you consider the great potential hidden in its massive roots, it becomes clear that this traditional secret deserves wider recognition. That is why you can now also find kudzu root here — naturally in our usual high quality.

So, what kind of plant are we talking about? Botanically speaking, Pueraria lobata belongs to the legume family. That may sound rather unspectacular at first, but on closer inspection kudzu reveals its unique nature. This climbing vine can grow up to 20 meters in a single year and produce shoots up to 12 meters long. Its roots can weigh up to an impressive 35 kilograms, while its fragrant, purple blossoms resemble countless tiny orchids.

For our kudzu tincture, we use only roots from valuable organic cultivation, following the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). These roots are carefully grown under strict quality standards, gently dried, finely milled, and processed with great care.

The TCM Secret

Traditional Chinese Medicine has known and valued kudzu root for centuries. Experienced practitioners recommend it especially for fatigue, digestive issues, and menopausal complaints. Pueraria lobata is also traditionally used in cases of strong cravings for external substances.

The remarkable phytochemicals of kudzu root contribute to its high reputation in Asia. 5-HTP, for example, is a precursor of serotonin, the so-called “happiness hormone.” Isoflavones (daidzein and daizin) are phytoestrogens that closely resemble human hormones in their structure.

Kudzu root contains valuable compounds such as:

5-HTP, Puerarin, Quercetin, Genistein, Genistin, Isoflavones (Daidzein, Daizin), dietary fiber
