Product information "Lomatium (Lomatium dissectum) - Tincture"

Lomatium Tincture (1 : 4)

Lomatium (Lomatium dissectum) tincture made from the roots

What is Lomatium?

Lomatium is an herbaceous plant native to western North America. Also known as desert parsley, it belongs to the Apiaceae family, which is reflected in its characteristic umbels. The many tiny flowers are arranged in double umbels. Lomatium mainly grows on wooded slopes and can reach up to 140 cm in height. Thanks to its pronounced taproot, the plant is considered robust and adapted to dry locations.

For our Lomatium tincture, we use the root, the plant part traditionally described in botanical and ethnobotanical literature. Only Lomatium roots are used.

The roots are selected according to strict quality criteria, carefully dried and extracted with alcohol. This creates a 1:4 alcoholic plant extract for the daily routine.

Ingredients

Apiol, Z-ligustilide, terpenoids, esters, phellandrene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, palmitic acid, linolenic acid, octanol, longifolene, tetronic acids

Traditional botanical background

Among indigenous communities in North America, desert parsley has long been known as a plant described in traditional herbal knowledge. Today, Lomatium is valued by people interested in traditional plant knowledge and distinctive botanicals.

Plant literature, including works by Stephen Harrod Buhner, also describes Lomatium in an ethnobotanical context. These references are intended for botanical classification only and do not constitute a recommendation for use in connection with diseases.
