Nettle (Urtica) Tincture

Product information "Nettle (Urtica) Tincture"

Nettle tincture (1 : 4)

What is nettle (Urtica sp.)?

Nettle is not necessarily one of humanity’s favourite plants. It is often referred to as a weed. This is mainly due to its leaves, which are covered with numerous stinging and bristly hairs. Accidental contact can leave unpleasant marks on the skin. The plant, which can grow up to 150 cm high, is found wherever people live. It grows in gardens, at the edges of forests and in meadows. Its deep rootstock is hardy, and the square stem and up to 10 cm long panicles with small flowers are typical features of the plant.

For our products, we use ground nettle leaves and roots. This gives you a carefully produced plant extract in practical tincture form.

A plant with a long tradition

Despite its reputation today, nettle is one of Europe’s traditional plants. Urtica was already described and used in many ways in ancient cultures. Knowledge of the plant also continued in antiquity. The Greek physician Dioscorides listed various traditional uses. In historical sources, nettle was mentioned in connection with herbal traditions and everyday plant applications.

Nettle was also described in historical herbal traditions, for example by Sebastian Kneipp and Hildegard von Bingen. In folk tradition, this native plant is still valued today. Today, nettle tincture is suitable as a plant-based food supplement to complement the daily diet and for a conscious everyday routine.

Was soll ich sagen?
