Product information "Oregano (Origanum vulgare) Tincture"
Oregano Tincture (1 : 4)
Oregano (Origanum vulgare) tincture made from dried herb
What is Oregano (Origanum vulgare)?
Oregano (common marjoram / wild marjoram) is best known as an aromatic culinary herb that gives pizza, pasta and Mediterranean dishes their typical flavour. Origanum vulgare is a herbaceous plant with delicate lilac flowers and originally comes from the Mediterranean region. There, oregano often finds the conditions it prefers: warmth, sun and calcareous soils. It can therefore be found on sunny slopes, along paths, in shrubs and on dry, nutrient-poor sites. Under favourable conditions, oregano can reach a height of up to 70 cm.
For our tincture, we use only dried oregano herb. The herb is selected according to defined quality criteria, carefully dried and extracted with alcohol. This creates a 1:4 liquid extract that is easy to dose and can be integrated into a daily routine.
Oregano in cooking and herbal traditions
Oregano has long been described as both a culinary and herbal plant. In historical herb books, oregano appears under several names, including dost, wild marjoram and wohlgemuth. Origanum vulgare is also known in Mediterranean and Asian herbal traditions. These traditional references are provided for cultural and historical context only and do not replace a health-related assessment.
Origanum vulgare naturally contains plant constituents, including essential oils such as borneol, thymol, carvacrol and p-cymol as well as bitter substances and tannins. The tincture is intended as a food supplement to complement the daily diet.
