Stephania tetranda tincture (1 : 4)

Stephania tetranda tincture made from dried root

What is Stephania tetranda?

Stephania tetranda is a perennial climbing plant originally found in Taiwan and southern China. It commonly grows along village and roadside areas. Under suitable conditions, the plant can reach a height of around 3 metres. With its green leaves arranged spirally along the stems, it is somewhat reminiscent of native ivy.

For our products, we use only the roots. They form the botanical starting material for this tincture. This preparation focuses on the root as the starting material. As expected from Phönix der Lebenskraft, careful selection and consistent product quality are at the centre of our work. The processing is presented so that the raw material and extract remain transparent in the declaration.

Traditionally known as Han Fang Ji

Stephania tetranda is known in traditional Chinese herbal practice as Han Fang Ji or Fang Ji. In this tradition, plants are often assigned certain characteristics; Stephania tetranda is traditionally described as bitter and cold. This classification is provided as cultural and traditional context only and should not be understood as indicating a specific effect of this food supplement.

The roots contain various naturally occurring plant constituents, including flavonoids, alkaloids and tetrandrine. Botanical information of this kind describes the plant material and does not constitute a health claim for the product.

You may also know the plant from the books of Stephen Harrod Buhner. This description deliberately focuses on the raw material, traditional classification, constituents and usage information.

Stephania tetranda tincture as a botanical extract

This food supplement combines dried Stephania tetranda root with a liquid dosage form. The 1:4 ratio describes the relation between the botanical starting material used and the extract, and serves as orientation for the product composition.

For the daily routine

The tincture is intended for adults who prefer a liquid dosage form. It is used according to the recommended intake and complements the daily diet without replacing a balanced diet.
