The traditional three-fruit blend from Ayurveda

What is Triphala?

Triphala is one of the most important remedies in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. This dietary supplement contains the myrobalan fruits Amalaki, Haritaki, and Bibhitaki. Amalaki is also known as the “Indian gooseberry.” The fruit grows on the Amla tree in tropical and subtropical regions of India. Botanically, the small and very crooked tree belongs to the spurge family. Its yellow fruit resembles a mix of gooseberry and grape, yet it is round and marked with light stripes.

Haritaki also grows in tropical regions. The evergreen tree reaches heights of up to 20 meters and produces brownish, uniform fruits that may not look very appealing at first glance, but hold incredible potential.

Bibhitaki likewise grows in India. Its nut-like, brown fruits come from a deciduous tree of the wing-seed family that can reach up to 30 meters in height.

In producing our tablets, we follow the principles of Ayurveda and use only organically grown fruits. These are carefully selected in equal parts according to strict quality standards, gently dried, finely ground, and pressed into tablets with care.

Harmony for body, mind, and spirit

Few traditional Ayurvedic blends are held in such high esteem as Triphala. This comes as no surprise, since the trio of active fruits contains a wide range of purely natural compounds. In Ayurveda, these play an essential role, as the teachings place great emphasis on everything Mother Earth provides. According to Ayurveda, Triphala brings body, soul, and mind into harmony, thereby supporting a long and happy life.

Amalaki supports the so-called Pitta energy (the Dosha of fire) and provides the body with warmth for a smooth metabolism. In India, Amalaki is mainly used to support the immune system, for skin problems, and resilience.

Haritaki is associated in Ayurveda with the Vata Dosha, which symbolizes the elements of air and water. Accordingly, Haritaki is primarily used to support the stomach and intestines.

Bibhitaki is linked with Kapha energy (the Dosha of water and earth). In Ayurveda, the fruit is used to support normal muscle function and the development of natural fat tissue. Indian folk medicine also applies Bibhitaki for respiratory, digestive, and skin-related concerns.

Amalaki fruit:

Amalaki, the berry of the Indian Amla tree (botanical name: Emblica officinalis), represents Pitta, the Dosha of fire. In India, metabolic disturbances and problems with the body’s heat balance are often attributed to an imbalance in this Dosha.

Amalaki is rich in Vitamin C (sources report over 800mg per 100g) and other antioxidants, which can be beneficial for metabolism. Overall, the fruit is considered to have a lasting vitalizing effect.

Haritaki fruit:

Haritaki, known botanically as Terminalia chebula, is the fruit of an evergreen tree, and like the Amla tree, belongs to the myrobalans.

In tropical regions, this tree can grow up to 20 meters tall. In the first half of the year, it bears bright green leaves, while from October to January, it is adorned with delicate white blossoms. From these develop the oval, brownish fruits known as Haritaki.

In Ayurveda, Haritaki represents the Vata Dosha, which symbolizes air and water. Imbalances in Vata are believed to particularly affect the digestive tract.

Bibhitaki fruit:

The third fruit in the Triphala blend is Bibhitaki (botanical name: Terminalia belerica). This initially green fruit comes from a “beleric” myrobalan tree, a deciduous species that can grow up to 30 meters tall and is native to India. Belonging to the wing-seed family, the tree is valued for both its oil-rich seeds and its fruits – Bibhitaki.

In Ayurveda, Bibhitaki is associated with the Kapha Dosha, representing earth and water.

Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) - Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient

Ashwagandha Tablets, 450 mg Active Ingredient Tablet size → 16mm * 8mm Active ingredient per tablet → 450mg What is Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)? Ashwagandha is considered the favorite plant of Ayurvedic medicine. Its status is comparable to that of ginseng in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), earning it the nickname “Indian Ginseng.” The origin of this nightshade plant is believed to be in Africa. However, Indian ginseng is also native to Pakistan, China, the Mediterranean region, and India. The herbaceous shrub can grow up to 2 meters tall and closely resembles the well-known Physalis with its oval leaves and cherry-like flowers. However, one should not make the mistake of eating the hard red berries — they are inedible. Our Ashwagandha tablets are produced in line with Ayurvedic principles. We use only Ashwagandha roots from ecologically sustainable cultivation. These are carefully chopped, gently dried, and finely ground. Only after all steps have passed our strict quality control are the raw materials gently pressed into tablets. THE Tonic of Ayurveda Ashwagandha has been successfully used in Ayurveda for over 3,000 years and continues to play a vital role. Especially in cases of fatigue and for boosting life energy, Indian ginseng is considered the most important strengthening herb and is assigned to the so-called Sattva type. This personality type is characterized by knowledge, purity, inner contentment, and joy. Ayurvedic medicine believes that Ashwagandha can uniquely awaken and enhance these positive traits in every person. Even those not seeking personal development can benefit from Indian ginseng, according to Ayurveda. This strengthening remedy is also used by experienced therapists for chronic fatigue, sleep disturbances, and to calm the mind. Especially in cases of sleep issues, traditional medicine swears by Ashwagandha, which is why it is also called the “sleep cherry.” Withania somnifera contains valuable compounds such as: alkaloids like anaferine, anahygrine, cuscohygrine, nicotine, tropine, and withasomnine. Withanolides such as somniferanolide, somniwithanolide, withaferin A, and withasomniferanolide. Effective Compounds of Ashwagandha The physiologically relevant main compounds in the Ashwagandha root used here are primarily steroidal alkaloids and lactones, including: Whitanin, Whitaninin, Pseudowhitanin, Somnin, Somniferin, Somniferinin, Tropine, Pseudotropine, so-called Ashwagandhanolides, Cuscowhygrin, Anaferin, Anhydrine, Sitoindoside 7/8, among others. Ashwagandha without questionable additives: This dietary supplement contains no artificial coloring, no flavoring, no preservatives, no gelatin, no added sugars, no lactose, and no gluten. Ingredients IngredientAmount per Daily DoseInfo Ashwagandha Root (Withania somnifera) approx. 1350 mg Organic raw material Includes two commonly used and safe cellulose-based excipients labeled MCC / HPMC for tablet stability, both of plant origin, as well as a very small amount (just a few parts per thousand by weight) of the equally common and safe substance magnesium stearate. Recommended Usage Take one tablet three times a day with plenty of water. Ideally, take the tablets before meals. It is better not to take all three tablets at once but spread them throughout the day (e.g., one in the morning, one at midday, and one in the evening) with sufficient water. Taking the tablets with or shortly after meals is generally not recommended; taking them before meals is preferable. However, this is not a strict rule. Important Information Ashwagandha tablets may cause drowsiness — as the German name “Schlafbeeren” (sleep berries) suggests. If you notice this side effect, it is best to take the three tablets in the evening, ideally before a light meal. Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a cool, dry place out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.

Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) - Tablets, 360 mg active ingredient

Wormwood Tablets, 360 mg active ingredient Tablet size → 16mm * 8mm Active ingredient per tablet → 360mg Wormwood Tablets made from Wormwood Herb (Artemisia absinthium) What is Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium)? Most people associate the word “wormwood” with absinthe. Indeed, this strong spirit is distilled from the medicinal plant. Yet Artemisia absinthium has a long tradition of being used for a wide variety of medicinal purposes. Originally native to the eastern Mediterranean, Europe, and Asia, wormwood prefers roadsides and walls, but it also thrives along streams and riverbanks. The plant has very particular requirements for its environment. If the soil is rich in lime and nutrients, it can grow up to one meter in height. The bushy semi-shrub with its pale yellow blossoms has fascinated people for thousands of years, mainly due to its enchanting fragrance. As temperatures rise, the tiny oil glands open and release the aromatic essential oils. For the production of our tablets, we use only the aerial parts of the herb, as they contain the highest levels of bitter compounds. As always with Phönix der Lebenskraft, we place great importance on absolute purity and sustainability of our raw materials. The versatility of Artemisia absinthium It is not only the fragrance that has enchanted people for millennia but also the extraordinary versatility of wormwood. With its high content of essential oils and bitter substances, Artemisia absinthium was already considered one of the most important plants in ancient Egypt. Records dating back to 1600 BC attest to its use against poisoning, paralysis, and eye inflammations. Hildegard of Bingen also regarded wormwood as one of the most effective medicinal plants, particularly due to its high concentration of bitter substances. In folk medicine, these have long been valued as especially beneficial for the stomach, gallbladder, and liver. Bitter substances stimulate digestion by increasing the secretion of gastric and bile juices. For this reason, Hildegard prescribed wormwood for loss of appetite, bloating, flatulence, and other digestive problems. Wormwood Tablets without questionable additives This dietary supplement contains no artificial colors, no flavorings, no preservatives, no gelatin, no added sugar, no lactose, no gluten. Ingredients IngredientContent per daily doseInfo Wormwood – ground herb without roots (Artemisia absinthium) approx. 1080 mg Organic raw material Additionally contains 2 common and harmless cellulose-based excipients with the abbreviations MCC / HPMC, used for tablet form stability, both of purely plant origin, and a very small amount (only a few thousandths by weight) of the equally common and harmless substance magnesium stearate. Recommended intake 3 tablets per day with sufficient liquid. It is better not to take the 3 tablets at once, but separately (e.g. one in the morning, one at midday, and one in the evening) with sufficient liquid. Intake with, or immediately after meals, is generally not recommended – rather, intake some time before a meal is preferable. However, this recommendation does not have to be followed strictly. Notes Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a dry place, protected from heat, and keep out of reach of children. Rhodiola rosea - Tablets, 378 mg active ingredient

Rhodiola Tablets, 378 mg active ingredient Tablet size → 16mm * 8mm Active ingredient per tablet → 378mg Rhodiola pressed tablets made from ground root What is Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea)? The fragrant medicinal plant with its melodious name had long been forgotten in Central Europe, even though Rhodiola already played an important role here as early as the 17th century. Rhodiola rosea, from the Crassulaceae family, is mainly found in arctic regions and the mountain ranges of Eurasia. The small plant, with a maximum height of 35 cm, is immediately recognizable as a succulent thanks to its characteristic leaves. Its tiny clustered flowers exude a pleasant fragrance, underlining its unique nature. Not only the flowers delight the senses – when cut, the roots and stems also release a rose-like scent, which gave the plant its name "rose root." For the production of our tablets, we follow the traditional knowledge of Nordic folk medicine and use only finely ground roots. These are mostly sourced from wild collections in Russia. However, we strive to obtain all raw materials from controlled cultivation in order to protect the wild Rhodiola population. Because for us, not only your well-being but also the health of our planet is important. The forgotten adaptogen In Scandinavia as well as in Russia, Rhodiola has long been considered an extraordinary adaptogen. Adaptogens are plants that gently but effectively influence the body’s stress response and help the organism develop greater stress resistance. In Siberia, Rhodiola is referred to as the “golden root,” emphasizing its high status. In Nordic folk medicine, this herb has been used to enhance concentration and memory performance and is also said to support vitality and potency. The indigenous people of the Altai region also valued Rhodiola highly, using it especially for persistent fatigue, weakness, and to support both mental and physical strength. This knowledge was also present in German-speaking regions. Rhodiola was already mentioned as an important tonic and trusted remedy for headaches in Leonhard Fuchs’ herbal book. Rhodiola contains valuable compounds such as phenolic glycosides (e.g. salidroside and rosavin, tyrosol), phytamines, tannins, flavonoids, organic acids, phytosterols, polysaccharides, and essential oils. Rhodiola without questionable additives This dietary supplement contains no artificial coloring, no flavoring, no preservatives, no gelatin, no added sugars, no lactose, and no gluten. Ingredients IngredientContent per daily dose Rhodiola – ground root (Rhodiola rosea) approx. 756 mg Plus 2 common and harmless cellulose-based excipients with the abbreviations MCC / HPMC for the stability of the tablets (of purely plant origin), and a very small amount (only a few thousandths by weight) of the likewise common and harmless substance magnesium stearate. Recommended use Take 2 tablets per day with sufficient liquid. Do not take both tablets at the same time but divide them (e.g. one in the morning and one in the evening) with plenty of liquid. It is generally not recommended to take them with or shortly after meals; instead, take them at least 20–30 minutes before a meal to optimize the absorption of the active compounds in the body. Notes Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a cool, dry place and keep out of reach of children. Ginger (Zingiber officinale) - Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient

Ginger Tablets, 450 mg Active Ingredient Tablet size → 16mm * 8mm Active ingredient per tablet → 450mg Ginger Tablets made from ground root What is Ginger (Zingiber officinale)? As a spicy and warming culinary ingredient, ginger is almost considered “old news” in our regions. But did you know that the root holds far greater potential? Not only Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), but even the personal physician of Emperor Nero was already aware of the beneficial effects of this healing plant. Hand on heart – would you recognize a ginger plant? Probably not, because with its thick stem and long foliage leaves, the plant, which can grow up to 150 cm tall, resembles reeds more than anything else. The chances of seeing a real ginger plant in Europe are also quite slim. On the one hand, the herbaceous plant prefers a warm, humid climate and is therefore mainly found in the tropics and subtropics. On the other hand, wild ginger has become rare on our planet. To preserve the scarce natural populations, we use only ginger from controlled organic cultivation. Our ginger roots are grown according to strict quality standards, carefully dried, finely ground, and gently formed into tablets. Ginger in TCM, Roman & Monastic Medicine Traditional Chinese Medicine has long relied on the unique effects of ginger. As you may know, in TCM all healing plants and foods are classified according to their properties. Ginger is considered warming, pungent, and aromatic. It is assigned to the functional circuits of the lungs, spleen, stomach, intestines, heart, and uterus. Based on this classification, ginger is used in TCM for circulatory disorders, nausea, vomiting, bloating, digestive weakness, diarrhea, constipation, coughs, colds, sore throats, and menstrual discomfort. In addition, Chinese practitioners are convinced that this healing plant can balance and move Qi (life energy). By the way, the effects of ginger are not only known in Chinese folk medicine. Alexander the Great also helped spread this knowledge in Europe. The Romans, too, were fascinated by its effects. After extensive studies, Emperor Nero’s personal physician recommended that all soldiers carry ginger with them at all times, as he was convinced they had a versatile all-rounder for their home pharmacy. Ginger contains valuable constituents such as: beta-bisabolene and ar-curcumene, D-camphor, geranial, neral, linalool, zingiberol, gingerols, shogaols, essential oil, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorus. Ginger Tablets without harmful additives This dietary supplement contains no artificial colorings, no flavorings, no preservatives, no gelatin, no added sugars, no lactose, and no gluten. Ingredients IngredientContent per daily doseInfo Ginger – root (Zingiber officinale) about 1800 mg Organic raw material Additionally, 2 commonly used and safe cellulose excipients with the abbreviations MCC / HPMC for tablet stability, also of purely plant origin, and a very small amount (only a few thousandths by weight) of the likewise common and safe substance magnesium stearate. Recommended Use 4 tablets per day with sufficient liquid. It is better not to take all 4 tablets at once, but spread throughout the day (e.g., two tablets in the morning, one at midday, and one in the evening) with sufficient liquid. Taking them during or right after meals is generally not recommended, i.e., it is preferable to take them before meals. However, this recommendation is not strict. Notes Dietary supplements are generally not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store protected from heat, dry, and out of the reach of children. Tragant (Astragalus) - Tabletten, 450 mg Wirkstoff

Astragalus Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient

Astragalus Tablets, 450 mg active ingredient Tablet size → 16mm * 8mm Active ingredient per tablet → 450mg Astragalus membranaceus pressed tablets from the root What is Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceus)? Astragalus has enjoyed high regard in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for more than 3,000 years. The perennial herbaceous plant originates from East Asia and can grow up to 40 cm tall. Since there are around 200 Astragalus species, choosing the right one is of great importance. We have consciously chosen Astragalus membranaceus, as this species is also used in TCM under the name “Huang Qi.” Translated, this means “great life force” and illustrates the remarkable potential of this healing plant. At first glance, however, this is not immediately apparent. Botanically speaking, Astragalus belongs to the legume family, just like peas. Its typical bright yellow blossoms make this connection clear. Yet, as in many cases, the true power lies hidden: neither the leaves nor the flowers are used in TCM or folk medicine. Instead, all attention is focused on the woody roots, which are whitish inside and about 3 cm thick. For the production of our tablets, we follow the traditional knowledge of TCM and use only Astragalus roots. The main roots are carefully selected, washed, cut, and sun-dried before being finely ground. We exclusively use raw materials that we would confidently consume ourselves. The most important adaptogen in TCM The list of Chinese medicinal plants is extensive. According to the saying “for every illness, a herb grows,” TCM offers a remarkable natural pharmacy. Astragalus holds a special place. It is considered a highly effective adaptogen but is also used for many other purposes. Adaptogens are plants that gently but sustainably influence the body’s stress response system and help the organism cope better with stress. In TCM, Astragalus is mainly used as a tonic to stabilize and preserve the universal life energy (Qi). Since everything depends on this force, it is understandable that Astragalus is also used in the Far East to strengthen the body’s natural defenses, support a normal cardiovascular system, and protect the liver, kidneys, nerves, and pancreas. Astragalus without questionable additives This dietary supplement contains no artificial colors, no flavorings, no preservatives, no gelatin, no added sugar, no lactose, no gluten. Ingredients IngredientContent per daily dose Astragalus – ground root(Astragalus membranaceus) approx. 1350 mg Additionally contains two common and harmless cellulose excipients (MCC / HPMC) for tablet stability, both of purely plant-based origin, and a very small amount (only a few thousandths by weight) of the equally common and harmless substance magnesium stearate. It is better not to take the 3 tablets all at once but separately (e.g., one in the morning, one at midday, and one in the evening) with sufficient liquid. Intake during or immediately after meals is generally not recommended, so taking them before meals is preferable. However, this recommendation is not strict. Notes Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store protected from heat, dry, and out of reach of children.
