Ginger (Zingiber officinale) - tablets, 450 mg ginger root

Ginger tablets, 450 mg ginger root Tablet size 16mm * 8mm Amount of ginger root per tablet 450mg Ginger tablets made from ground root What is ginger (Zingiber officinale)? As a sharp, aromatic spice, ginger has long been known in our part of the world. The botanically used plant part is the rhizome, often referred to in everyday language as ginger root. The branched rhizomes have been used for centuries in cuisines and herbal traditions. Ginger is also frequently described in TCM and in historical European sources - here, however, consciously as a food or food supplement, not as a medicine. Be honest: would you recognise a ginger plant? Probably not, because with its thick stem and long leaves, the plant, which can grow up to 150 cm tall, is more reminiscent of reed. For Europeans, seeing a real ginger plant is uncommon. The herbaceous plant prefers a warm, humid climate and is mainly found in tropical and subtropical regions. Our ginger roots are selected according to defined quality criteria, carefully dried, finely ground and gently pressed into tablets. Grinding the dried root produces a plant powder that can be portioned precisely. The result is a practical tablet form made from ground ginger root, with 450 mg per tablet. Ginger in TCM, Roman and monastery traditions Traditional Chinese Medicine has described ginger within its own system for a long time. In that tradition, ginger is traditionally classified as warming, sharp and aromatic and assigned to specific categories. These statements refer to historical and cultural classifications and are not intended as health-related recommendations or medical statements. Ginger also appears early in European traditions. Alexander the Great helped spread knowledge of the rhizome in Europe, and Roman sources also mention ginger. In the Middle Ages, monasteries dealt with many spices and plant substances; ginger was one of the well-known traded goods and was valued in the cuisine and herbal knowledge of the time. Typical natural constituents of ginger root include essential oil, gingerols and shogaols; the specific composition may vary depending on the raw material.
