Artemisia Annua Alcohol-Free Tincture (1:4)
Artemisia Annua (Sweet Wormwood) Tincture
Important Notice: Since we regularly receive inquiries about the possible intake of Artemisia Annua products, we would like to clarify the legal situation. The issue is not the quality or processing of the product itself, but a legal one. Artemisia Annua has been banned as a dietary supplement within the EU. This is largely due to pharmaceutical lobbying influences within the European Union. Legally, we are strictly required to discourage internal use. Recommending consumption would be a criminal offense for us! That said, we cannot prevent you from choosing to use the product on your own responsibility, despite its restriction in the EU.
Tincture made from finely ground herb
We sell this tincture exclusively as a natural room fragrance for aromatherapy. Keep away from heat and out of reach of children. In accordance with EU Novel Food regulations, Artemisia Annua (Sweet Wormwood) is not approved for use as a food or dietary supplement in the European Union. As the manufacturer, we are therefore legally required to explicitly discourage both internal and external use of this tincture.
Any such use would be against our recommendation and entirely at your own risk.
What is Artemisia Annua?
Artemisia annua, also known as Sweet Wormwood, is considered the “Queen of Medicinal Plants.” Originally native to Asia, it is now cultivated in many parts of the world. The plant can grow up to 2 meters tall and thrives in a wide range of soils, though it prefers nutrient-poor conditions.
We place the highest value on purity and sustainability in the production of our products and use only herbs that meet our strict selection criteria.
Artemisia Annua in Traditional Chinese Medicine
In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Artemisia annua has been used successfully for over 2,000 years. It is highly valued by doctors and healers throughout Asia, especially for its positive effect on the immune system. While the human body is generally capable of defending itself against external threats, this process is not always entirely effective. That’s why TCM relies on the power of Artemisia annua to help eliminate unwanted invaders and support cellular regeneration.
Artemisia annua contains numerous active compounds, including bitter substances, essential oils, flavonoids, terpenes, antioxidants, and the unique compound **artemisinin**, which occurs exclusively in this plant. The researcher **Tu Youyou** received the **Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2015** for her groundbreaking research on artemisinin.
Additionally, Artemisia annua is rich in minerals such as potassium, calcium, phosphorus, and sulfur. It also contains a well-balanced amino acid profile.
Legal Note: Due to EU regulations, Artemisia annua may not be sold for internal use within the European Union.
