What is Bidens pilosa (Hairy Beggarticks)?

Bidens pilosa is a South American plant that has spread globally as an invasive species. Its widespread distribution is due to its remarkable adaptability. The plant tolerates a wide range of soil types, from sandy to loamy and even nutrient-depleted soils, and thrives at elevations up to 3600 meters. It is resistant to heat, drought, and even extreme cold. As an allelopathic plant, it releases substances toxic to other plants, allowing it to outcompete native species. The white flowers of Bidens pilosa have a distinctive orange center, and its seeds are equipped with a characteristic two-pronged tip—hence the name "Beggarticks". These seeds stick easily to shoes, clothing, and animals, aiding in their distribution.

Recommended Usage for Bidens Pilosa Tincture

The long-term recommended daily dose is approx. 10 ml per day, ideally split into two servings.

Start with approx. 5 ml per day and gradually increase over a few days to the full daily dose.
