What is Alchornea cordifolia (Christmas Bush)?

Alchornea cordifolia, also known as "Christmas Bush," is a plant that thrives primarily in tropical Central Africa. It is especially common in Senegal, Kenya, Tanzania, South Africa, and Angola. This shrub can grow up to an impressive height of seven meters and is characterized by its large green leaves and grape-like fruits. Alchornea cordifolia grows best in acidic soils and helps regenerate depleted earth, especially along riverbanks and in marshy landscapes.
