What is Sida Acuta?

This delicate plant with its mallow-like, five-petalled flowers originally comes from Mexico and Central America. Today, Sida acuta can also be found in many other parts of the world. As a so-called invasive plant, it is sometimes described as a weed because of its strong ability to spread through spiny seed heads. This may also be due to the fact that Sida Acuta develops strong, deep roots that are difficult to remove by hand. Over time, the stems of the plant, which can grow up to two metres high, become woody and very firm. Once Sida acuta has established itself in a location, it tends to remain there. Even persistent drought, heavy rainfall, hungry herbivores and lawn mowers can have little effect on the plant.

Sida Acuta prefers ecosystems with loamy, desert or humus-rich soils. It is mainly found on pastures, cultivated fields and roadsides.

Responsible sourcing matters to us. That is why we use raw materials that meet our quality and sustainability standards. For our Sida Acuta products, we use ground leaves from carefully selected cultivation.

Sida Acuta in TCM and Ayurveda

Sida acuta has long been described in traditional herbal literature, including TCM and Ayurvedic sources. We present these references as botanical and cultural background information. The product description remains deliberately neutral and focuses on the plant material and the practical tablet format.

Botanical descriptions of Sida acuta mention plant-specific constituents such as cryptolepine, ecdysterone and stigmasterol. No specific nutritional or physiological effect is derived from this here.

Sida Acuta in TCM and Ayurveda Sida acuta has been described for a long time in traditional herbal systems such as TCM and Ayurveda. These descriptions come from traditional teaching systems and are included here for botanical and cultural-historical context. Traditional descriptions are not to be understood as statements about the prevention, treatment or cure of diseases. For food supplements, health-related statements may only be used when they are legally authorised and applicable to the specific product. For this alcohol-free preparation, we therefore focus on the botanical composition, the extraction medium and practical use. The original terms from TCM and Ayurveda are therefore deliberately not presented as modern effect claims. They simply show that Sida acuta has been described in different regions and traditions. The composition, the recommended daily intake and the label information are decisive for this product. In addition to naturally occurring plant constituents such as cryptolepine, ecdysterone, stigmasterol and others, Sida acuta is described as having a protein content of up to 25 %. This raw-material information should be supported by product-specific evidence and is not linked to any effect claim.
