What is Cryptolepis (Cryptolepis sanguinolenta)?

Cryptolepis sanguinolenta is still considered a true insider tip in the Western world. This tropical plant originates from Africa and is primarily found in Angola, Lagos, the Belgian Congo, and Gambia. Cryptolepis thrives in heat and prefers savannas and dry forests.

With its glossy green leaves and delicately curved white flowers, this climbing plant appears quite majestic. The African medicinal plant owes its name to a unique feature: when the stem is cut, a bright red sap emerges – hence the name "sanguinolenta", which translates to "bleeding".

Recommended Use of Cryptolepis Tincture

The maximum daily dose is 165 drops (5 milliliters), preferably divided into three doses of 55 drops each. Start with a total of 66 drops (2 milliliters) per day – or three doses of 22 drops – and gradually increase to the full daily dose over several days. If you experience subjectively strong stimulating effects, reduce the dosage to a more comfortable level. Use the included pipette to count the drops.
