Admittedly, the name "devil's claw" may not sound especially reassuring at first. However, the plant owes its name solely to its fruits, which develop from red-violet flowers. They have gnarled projections that spread out like claws as soon as the fruit ripens.
The plant with the almost unpronounceable Latin name is found mainly on the African continent. This herbaceous plant prefers sandy steppe regions, especially savannas and the Kalahari Desert. It can cope with pronounced dry periods by no longer supplying its above-ground plant parts with water. Stems, leaves and flowers gradually die back. What remains is the deep-lying root. This widely branched root system consists of a thick primary root and many lateral roots. They serve as water and nutrient stores and are therefore referred to as storage roots. When you consider that devil's claw reduces its above-ground plant parts to protect its roots, it quickly becomes clear what a special role these roots play for the plant.

Recommended intake for Devil's Claw Tincture
The longer-term recommended daily intake is 280 drops (approx. 8.5 millilitres) per day, preferably divided into five intakes of about 56 drops each. Start with a total of only 180 drops (approx. 5.5 millilitres) per day - or five times 36 drops - and then increase over several days to the longer-term recommended intake. Use the supplied pipette to count the drops.
