Lapacho Tincture, 50 ml (1:4)
What is Lapacho (Tabebuia impetiginosa)?
Lapacho, also known as the “Tree of Life,” has gained increasing recognition outside of South America. This majestic tree thrives mainly in subtropical regions such as northwestern Mexico and Argentina. Reaching heights of up to 50 meters, Lapacho is as visually impressive as it is medicinally valued. Its dazzling blossoms range from shimmering pink to deep red, and with a lifespan of up to 700 years, it is easy to understand why indigenous people lovingly call it the “Tree of Life.”
For our products, we use only the inner bark of the tree. As quality and sustainability are our top priorities, harvesting is done responsibly: only small pieces of bark are removed from trees at least 40 years old — as this is when the concentration of beneficial compounds is highest. The tree is then allowed several years to regenerate naturally. Importantly, no tree is ever felled for our products.
The Secret of the Incas
The Incas already knew of the extraordinary powers of the Lapacho tree. Their descendants, the indigenous peoples of South America, continue to use this wisdom today. In its native regions, Lapacho has long been traditionally applied for a wide range of conditions, including:
- Chronic respiratory issues
- Stomach and intestinal discomfort
- Joint problems
- Tissue changes
- Defense against unwanted intruders of all kinds
What’s Inside
Lapacho bark contains a unique combination of active compounds. Remarkably, it holds a special form of oxygen that the human body can directly utilize to fend off intruders. Oxygen is also vital for nourishing cells, maintaining the elasticity of blood vessels, and producing red blood cells.
About 60 years ago, the Argentinian botanist Dr. Theodore Meyer discovered additional constituents of Lapacho bark — twelve quinones in total — which he described as making it a natural, holistic antibiotic. One of these, known as Lapachol, is exclusive to Lapacho bark. The Munich researcher Bernhard Kreher also argued that this ancient Inca remedy can strengthen the immune system by up to 50%.
Besides oxygen and quinones, Lapacho bark is rich in calcium, iron, and selenium. Calcium supports bone structure, iron is essential for oxygen transport, blood formation, and muscle strength, while selenium is a vital antioxidant that helps neutralize free radicals and supports healthy thyroid function.
