Lavender Blossom Tincture (1 : 4)
Lavender (Lavandulae angustifoliae flos) tincture made from dried blossoms
What is Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)?
Lavender is most commonly known for its calming and soothing fragrance. But did you know that this plant has much more to offer? Since ancient times, lavender has been considered a true all-rounder in folk medicine. It is also firmly established as a healing remedy in both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Indian Ayurveda.
However, this only applies to true lavender and not to so-called lavandin, which is often sold instead. At Phönix der Lebenskraft we place special emphasis on quality, which is why we offer only Lavandula angustifolia, the true lavender, in its purest form. This aromatic shrub belongs to the mint family and can grow up to 100 cm tall. Its many-branched upright stems carry countless lilac-colored blossoms that release an incomparable fragrance. True lavender originates from the coastal regions of the Mediterranean. It particularly thrives on dry, rocky slopes in Greece and Italy.
For our tincture, we use only genuine lavender blossoms from ecologically valuable cultivation. These are gently dried, and by adding pure alcohol, all valuable constituents are carefully extracted for your benefit.
More Than Just a Fragrance
The name “lavender” is derived from the Latin word lavare (“to wash”), already hinting at one of its early uses. In the Middle Ages, lavender was used both internally and externally for cleansing the body. The physician Nicholas Culpeper (1616–1654) even referred to lavender as a “cure-all.” He prescribed it to patients for heart complaints, loss of voice, and fainting. Hildegard of Bingen also praised lavender, saying that “lavender prepares the mind for pure knowledge and clear understanding.”
In Ayurveda, lavender is still used today to relieve headaches, nervousness, and sleep disturbances. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that lavender positively influences the energy flow of the liver, spleen, heart, and stomach. Knowledgeable practitioners therefore use lavender to treat pain, heat, and cramps. The plant is also used to keep away unwelcome guests.
Lavender tincture contains valuable compounds such as: monoterpenes, sesquiterpenes, monoterpenols, ketones, esters, and oxides.

Notes
Dietary supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet or a healthy lifestyle. Store protected from heat, in a dry place, and always keep out of reach of children. Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. The tincture is naturally cloudy and must be shaken before use.
Important: Contains 60% alcohol by volume. Children over 10 years of age may safely take the same lower daily dose (according to recognized phytotherapy literature), provided the relatively small alcohol content is well tolerated.
