Roseroot alcohol-free tincture (1 : 4)
Roseroot (Rhodiola rosea) tincture - made from the roots
What is roseroot (Rhodiola rosea)?
This aromatic plant with its distinctive name has been less present in our region for a long time, although roseroot has been described in European plant literature since the 17th century.
Rhodiola rosea, a member of the Crassulaceae family, is mainly found in Arctic regions and the mountain areas of Eurasia. The small plant reaches a maximum height of 35 cm and is recognisable as a succulent plant by its characteristic leaves. The tiny flowers in clustered inflorescences also reflect this botanical relationship. Not only the flowers, but also the roots and above-ground stems release a rose-like scent when cut. This is where the name roseroot comes from.
For our alcohol-free tincture, we use grated roots. The raw material is selected carefully, with attention to suitable sourcing and the protection of natural plant populations wherever possible. This combines traditional plant knowledge with modern processing.
The extract is offered in liquid form and can be integrated into the daily nutrition routine using the measuring cup provided. The information on daily intake and raw material quantity refers to the recommended use of the product.
Roseroot in traditional plant knowledge
In Scandinavia and Russia, roseroot has long been known as the “golden root”. The plant is also mentioned in Nordic folk traditions and historical herbals. These references describe traditional use and are not intended as health-related effect claims.
The Indigenous peoples of the Altai region also knew roseroot as part of regional plant knowledge. In Alaska and Canada, the fresh plant is eaten as a food in some regions and was traditionally preserved.
In the German-speaking region, roseroot appears in the herbal book of Leonhart Fuchs. There, the plant is part of historical botanical descriptions.
Roseroot naturally contains various plant constituents, including phenolic glycosides such as salidroside and rosavid, tyrosol, tannins, flavonoids, plant acids, phytosterols, polysaccharides and essential oils. This list describes the plant and is not intended as an effect claim.
