Product information "Rockrose (Cistus incanus) - 100g Powder"

Rockrose Powder

Rockrose (Cistus incanus) powder made from the herb

What is Rockrose?

Originally, rockrose is native only to the Mediterranean region. From Greece, Turkey, and Albania to Spain, this charming small shrub has delighted people for thousands of years. Along its gray-haired stems grow evergreen leaves that secrete a valuable resin from their fine hairs. The flowers of Cistus incanus appear slightly crumpled at first glance, with violet petals encircling an orange center.

The plant, which can grow up to one meter high, is extremely hardy and thrives even under harsh conditions. On hot and dry summer days, it simply folds its leaves until the next rainfall. Rockrose, which has nothing in common with the rose besides its name, embodies what we now call resilience. Regardless of external circumstances, it always makes the best of everything.

Our products are subject to strict quality standards. We use only ground rockrose herb from ecologically sustainable cultivation – entirely free from chemicals. This way, the full spectrum of the plant’s natural compounds is preserved.

Balm for Body and Soul

In the Mediterranean region and in ancient Egypt, rockrose has been valued as a highly effective medicinal plant for at least 2,000 years. Even today, Cistus incanus is revered as an important ally against external invaders that challenge and test our body’s defenses. In the past as well as today, rockrose has been used both preventively and acutely for coughs, colds, diarrhea, skin issues, and to protect the body’s mucous membranes.

Not only is Cistus incanus visually striking, it also boasts an impressive range of beneficial compounds. In addition to tannins and essential oils, it contains a unique resin that helps the body defend itself against invisible intruders of all kinds. This resin also captures free radicals and renders them harmless. Spiritually minded people attribute warming, cleansing, and grounding properties to this resin, which are said to spread throughout the body and soul like a balm. Rockrose is also a treasure trove of polyphenols—powerful secondary plant compounds. Among these are 12 different flavonoids, including:

  • Naringenin – helps regulate sugar, fat, and blood balance.
  • Apigenin – supports proper sugar metabolism and prevents unnecessary fat from entering cells.
  • Ellagic acid – traditionally valued in folk medicine as a helper for cellular health, thought to support cells in returning to their “normal” state.
  • Quercetin – widely used to help the body cope with stressors and protect cells from unwanted side effects.
