What is Stephania tetranda?

Stephania tetranda is a climbing plant that is originally described in Taiwan and southern China. It often grows along village and roadside areas. Under suitable conditions, the plant can reach a height of around 3 metres. With its green leaves arranged spirally along the stems, it is somewhat reminiscent of native ivy.

For our products, we use the roots and process them into ground plant material in tablet form. As usual from Phönix der Lebenskraft, careful selection, transparent composition and clear declaration are central.

Traditionally known as Han Fang Ji

Stephania tetranda is known in traditional Chinese plant knowledge under the name Han Fang Ji. In traditional descriptions, plants are often assigned characteristics such as taste and temperature; Stephania tetranda is often described there as bitter and cool. This information is provided for botanical and cultural context and is not intended as a health-related efficacy statement.

So what is actually in Stephania tetranda? The root naturally contains various plant substances, including flavonoids, alkaloids and tetrandrine. Because plant raw materials can vary in their natural composition, careful processing and clear information on the amount of plant material are key.

You may also know the plant from specialist plant literature.

Cat's Claw tablets, 300 mg per tablet Cat's Claw tablets made from ground root bark Tablet size 16mm * 8mm Amount per tablet: 300 mg ground cat's claw root bark What is Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa)? Cat's claw owes its name mainly to its appearance. When looking closely at the woody climbing plant, its resemblance to the claws of domestic cats is striking. Cat's claw is found particularly in Colombia, Ecuador, Trinidad, Venezuela, Costa Rica and many other countries with a tropical climate. The vine feels especially at home in dense vegetation. In search of sunlight, cat's claw climbs up trees and can reach a size of up to 100 metres. Its shoots bear opposite leaves. In between, slightly sickle-shaped curved thorns grow, recalling the plant's namesake. For our products, we use the root bark. This part of the plant has long been described in various traditional plant applications, including TCM. Cat's Claw in traditional plant applications Science has now described part of the constituent profile of cat's claw. These constituents include flavonoids, alkaloids, triterpenes, steroids and other plant components. This information describes the plant and does not constitute a promise of effect. In ethnobotanical literature and in traditions from the Amazon region, Uncaria tomentosa has been mentioned for a long time. Cat's claw is also described in traditional Chinese medicine and in botanical texts. Traditional references are presented here without disease-related applications or promises of effect. The focus is on botanical classification, the plant part used and the practical tablet form. If you are familiar with the writings of Stephen Harrod Buhner, cat's claw may be known to you as a plant described there. Cat's claw is a food supplement made from the root, more precisely the root bark, of this liana-like climbing plant native to South America, especially Peru. Cat's Claw tablets in a practical dosage form The formula is focused on ground cat's claw root bark in tablet form and the excipients used for tablet stability. The tablet form allows clear portioning of 300 mg per tablet. The recommended daily intake can be taken throughout the day according to the intake recommendation. Cat's Claw tablet ingredients IngredientAmount per maximum daily doseInfo Cat's claw root bark(Uncaria tomentosa) approx. 2100 mg organic raw material In addition, 2 commonly used cellulose excipients with the abbreviations MCC / HPMC are used for tablet stability, also of plant origin, together with a very small amount (only a few per mille by weight) of magnesium stearate. The botanical name Uncaria tomentosa remains included so that the plant can be clearly distinguished from other plants with similar common names. Cat's Claw tablet intake recommendation 7 (seven) tablets per day with sufficient liquid, distributed throughout the day.
