What is Rockrose?

Originally, rockrose is native only to the Mediterranean region. From Greece, Turkey, and Albania to Spain, this charming small shrub has delighted people for thousands of years. Along its gray-haired stems grow evergreen leaves that secrete a valuable resin from their fine hairs. The flowers of Cistus incanus appear slightly crumpled at first glance, with violet petals encircling an orange center.

The plant, which can grow up to one meter high, is extremely hardy and thrives even under harsh conditions. On hot and dry summer days, it simply folds its leaves until the next rainfall. Rockrose, which has nothing in common with the rose besides its name, embodies what we now call resilience. Regardless of external circumstances, it always makes the best of everything.
