What is Rockrose (Cistus incanus)?

Originally native only to the Mediterranean region, rockrose has delighted people for thousands of years in countries such as Greece, Turkey, Albania, and Spain. On its gray-haired stems grow evergreen leaves that exude valuable resin from fine hairs. The flowers of Cistus incanus appear slightly crumpled at first glance, with violet petals encircling an orange center.

This shrub, which grows up to one meter tall, is extremely undemanding and thrives even under harsh conditions. On hot, dry summer days, it simply folds its leaves and patiently waits for the next rainfall. The rockrose, which shares only its name with the rose, embodies what we now call resilience. Regardless of external circumstances, it always makes the best of its environment.

Even today, Cistus incanus is regarded as an important ally in supporting the body’s defenses against intruders that challenge our immune system. Traditionally, rockrose has been used both preventively and acutely for coughs, colds, diarrhea, skin problems, and to protect the mucous membranes.

Cistus incanus not only impresses with its appearance but also with its abundance of valuable compounds. In addition to tannins and essential oils, it contains a unique resin that helps the body defend itself against invisible intruders. This resin also neutralizes free radicals. Rockrose Tincture Recommended Use

The long-term recommended daily dose is 235 drops (approx. 7.2 ml) per day, ideally divided into five servings of about 47 drops each. Begin with 170 drops (approx. 5.2 ml) per day—five servings of 34 drops—and gradually increase over several days until reaching the full daily dose. Use the provided pipette to count the drops.
